We call chestnuts KURI in Japanse.
Chestnuts is one of the autumn flavors of Japan,
and there are a lot of KURI dishes in autumn.
This is roasted chestnuts.
My parents visit countryside which is well known for traditional Japanese crops,
for example black beans and chestnuts.
They bought a small package of roasted chestnuts for us which are really good.
For Japanese KURI is often used for sweets,
like KURI-YOKAN, KURI-ZENZAI, KURI-KINTON, and so on.
KURI-GOHAN, flavored cooked rice with KURI, is also good!
I saw roasted chestnuts stands in Milano.
I've also tried Italian chestnuts at friend's home in Italy,
and they were also delicious, of cource.
Compared to them, Japanese chestnut could be bigger
and contain higer water?
